Boxpunk

The trend for collectible designer toys is exploding. These Boxpunk toys involve minimal production costs, and are a much cheaper and ecologically efficient alternative to the well-established vinyl toy subculture. This brief involved the application of a range of skills, including template layouts, vector illustration and papercraft. My design is a Totem Pole with interchangeable characters. The highly stylized surface graphics evolved from my fascination with indigenous folk art from around the world, in particular Haida and Polynesian motifs.
