Description
DCTO stands for Dreams Come True Object (pronounced ‘dik-toe’), . This is the first in a select list of figure design projects planned for release. My love all thing Japanese prompted the design of this futuristic interpretation the Traditional Zen doll know as a Daruma. With its tactile form, modern lines, and Zen sensibility, allows the DCTO: Jibun Project to position itself as a crossover piece that excites the true vinyl figure collector, and invites in new eyes for a closer look. DCTO has undoubtedly put Vancouver's pin on the map of the 'vinyl art figure' world.

DCTO: Jibun Project (Dreams Come True Object: My Project ) is a moderninterpretation of an ancient Japanese Zen doll known as a Daruma doll. Thiscuriously limbless, traditionally red-cloaked figure with unpainted eyes is used forpersonal dedication to a new venture such as starting a business, beginning a newpath in life, or given as a gift for celebrations like New Years, weddings andbirthdays. Painting in DCTO’s left eye shows commitment to a goal; once the goalis achieved, you then paint in DCTO’s right eye.
DCTO (‘dik-toe’) is designed to right itself when it is knocked over, reflecting theJapanese saying, ‘Nanakorobi yaoki’, "Fall 7 times, rise 8 times”. This reminds usthat no matter the number of times we may stumble, those with a persistent heartwill rise again to achieve their goals, symbolizing relentless dedication and anundaunted spirit.
